Stand and Rise

A Love Letter to When the Prayer Is Answered
On my way to work, listening to Cleo Sol, something settled in my spirit.
We spend so much time on our knees asking God for a change.
We pray for the new job.
The healing.
The peace.
The way out.
We ask.
We wait.
We hope.
But then a question came over me—soft, but undeniable:
What do you do when He actually answers?
“If God called you at 5 AM,
would you get on your knees…
or would you get up and leave? If He answered your prayers,
would you share His light…
or choose to hide?"Or would you stand and rise?”
We pray for change… but when it comes, it asks something of us.
Sometimes, we get so comfortable in our waiting
that the answering feels unfamiliar.
Even… scary.
Because the truth is—
we don’t just want the blessing.
We want the blessing without the responsibility.
We want the door to open…
but we hesitate to walk through it.
And so we pause.
Not because God didn’t answer.
But because we’re still looking at our past.
Still replaying old mistakes.
Still holding onto versions of ourselves that no longer exist.
But if He answered the prayer…
then that means something deeper.
It means the Light is already in you.
Not later.
Not when you’re perfect.
Not when you feel ready.
Now.
You don’t have to hide behind:
“I’m not ready.”
“I don’t know enough.”
“What if I fail?”
Because the same God you prayed to…
already accounted for all of that.
The answer didn’t come to who you used to be.
It came to who you are becoming.
So don’t leave the room
just because the door opened.
Don’t shrink
just because the spotlight found you.
Don’t go back
just because forward feels unfamiliar.
This is the moment you prayed for.
This is the shift you asked for.
This is the life you kept whispering about
when no one else was listening.
So now…
Stand.
And rise.
